CCN has been distributing supermarket vouchers and providing top-ups for gas and electricity for households facing poverty as a result of the cost-of-living increase. With funding provided through the Norfolk Community Foundation by Norfolk County Council and the Department of Work and Pensions we have been able to assist individuals to afford to heat their homes and purchase groceries. It has been wonderful to be able to offer a practical solution for people leaving prison who have limited access to funds. One recipient of a supermarket voucher on the day of his release, was visibly moved and with tears in his eyes said “Thank you. You don’t know what a difference this will make, it really means a lot”.
