Become a Mentor

We welcome enquiries from a broad range of backgrounds, including those with lived experience of the Criminal Justice system who have been out of prison for 2 years or more.

Volunteers might expect to give at least 2 hours per week and be able to commit to 12 months with CCN.

Training course for volunteer Mentors

We provide full training and ongoing supervision for all our volunteers. All our volunteers are required to do the training, to understand the aims of the project and what would be required of a mentor. Completing the training does not commit you to becoming a mentor. Everyone who is accepted as a Mentor will be asked to complete a Basic DBS and provide two references.

The next course starts on Saturday 6th July. Please note: This course will consist of 2 x 8 hour sessions, with the second session being held on Saturday 13th July. Both sessions will be held at The Chapel, Wensum Street, NR2 2TJ.

We also have a course starting on Tuesday the 25th of September at St Stephen’s Church, Rampant Horse Street, Norwich, NR2 1QP. This course will consist of 8 x 2 hour sessions. Please see below for dates.

If you are interested in attending, please send a completed CCN Volunteer application form to abby@norfolkchaplaincy.org.uk
