Fundraising & Communications Officer

Part-time, 16 hours per week

Hybrid – office and home working

Salary: £12,563 per annum


We are seeking a motivated and creative Fundraising & Communications Officer to join the friendly team of our growing charity, and help make a genuine difference to the lives of people impacted by the criminal justice system. This position offers an exciting opportunity to get involved with all aspects of our marketing strategy to help raise our charity’s profile and grow our impact.

At Community Chaplaincy Norfolk, we believe that people leaving prison deserve a second chance, and person-centred, meaningful support to help them resettle in the community. We train and support a team of volunteer mentors who work with prison leavers in the community for as long as needed, providing emotional and practical support, and helping them build confidence and support networks to avoid returning to prison. As our Fundraising & Communications Officer, your role will be to secure funding for our much-needed work as we grow and support more people across Norfolk. You will make applications to trusts and foundations, build relationships with individual and corporate donors, and deliver community fundraising through campaigns and events. You will also be responsible for updating and maintaining our social media accounts and website, and creating internal and external communications such as newsletters and leaflets.

Responsibilities

  • Secure funding for the work of Community Chaplaincy Norfolk (CCN)
  • Promote the work of CCN to current and prospective funders, the media, and the public
  • Build relationships with funders, donors, supporters, and local partners
  • Work closely with the team to organise events and outreach activities to raise funds and awareness of CCN’s work
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising and communication strategies, adjusting approaches as necessary

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a charity or organisation in the criminal justice sector is desirable
  • Experience successfully applying for funding from charitable trusts and foundations
  • Strong relationship management skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences
  • Proficiency using WordPress, Canva, Microsoft Office, and/or similar programmes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a flair for storytelling
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Organised with strong attention to detail and project management capabilities
